报告人简介:About Dr. Liwei Gu Dr. Liwei Gu earned his PhD in Food Science and finished postdoc training at USDA, Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center. He was a Research Assistant Professor at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences 2014-2018. He served as an investigator and analytical core director at Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center for 4 years before taking a position of Assistant Professor in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department at the University of Florida in 2008. He was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2014. He was named an UF Research Foundation Professor in 2016 and an UF Term Professor in 2017. Dr. Gu serves as Associate Editor for Journal of Science of Food and Agriculture (impact factor 2.463) and he makes decisions on about 100 submitted research papers annually. As director of IR-4 Southern Region, he leads a team of scientists to conduct field tests and residue analysis of pesticides on fruits and vegetables in the southeast of United States including Puerto Rico. Dr. Gu is one of the 15 Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher and “the world’s most influential scientific mind” in the state of Florida. His research programs are focused on the chemistry, bioavailability, and bioactivity of phytonutrients in foods. He published 80 original researches in food science, nutritional science, and pharmaceutics journals with an H-index of 32 (32 papers were cited for at least 32 times). Dr. Gu advises graduate students in both Food Science and Nutritional Science disciplines. He served as department graduate committee chair for two years. He has mentored 5 postdoc scholars, 7 doctoral students, and 10 master students. His graduate students have won numerous awards and found employments in food industry or academia. His teaching evaluation is 4.82 out 5 by undergraduate students in his class. Dr. Gu is a member of IFT (Institute of Food Technologists), American Society of Nutrition, and Florida Wine and Grape Growers Association. When he is not working, he enjoys strength training, aerobic exercises, and watching movies and Gator sports.
